What Are Squirrels?
Squirrel Scouts are the youngest section and newest addition to the scouting family and are aged between 4 and 6 years old. Children can join Squirrels Scouts once they turn 4 years old. They can move to the next Section, Beaver Scouts, between 5 ¾ and 6 ¼ years old. Oxshott Squirrel Scouts opened in September 2024 and was the first Drey to open in Esher District.
Squirrel Scouts enjoy making friends, playing games, going on visits and helping others. They usually meet together once a week in a Squirrel Scout Drey.
Squirrels join the older sections when they come camping on our annual Group Camp, parents get to join in too. There is sometimes an opportunity for them to join us during special events with the Beaver. This is an exciting experience for them and gives them a taste of the camping activities that feature quite strongly in the programmes for all our older sections.
Squirrel Drey Meets : Fridays 4.30pm to 5.30pm
Squirrel Scout Team Leader : Corrie Haxton
