Following #Lockdown2 UK Scouting readiness alert level has gone back to RED - Meaning we cannot continue Face to Face scouting for the time being. This also had an impact on the already shortened and amended planned Annual Remembrance Day service at the Memorial on Oxshott Heath.
Instead the service was Live streamed via Zoom from the Heath, with just a few individuals in attendance, Our GSL Anja Davidson laid the wreath on behalf of Oxshott Scouts. it was also great to see that all dog walkers and any passing by kept their distance and was able to pay their respect. Although no youth members from the group were able to attend. Our Beavers and Cubs still found a way to remember and pay their respect to the fallen and lost animals in service. all their beautiful painted pebbles are now laid on the memorial - We do hope you will go and have a look in the coming days.

Autumn term 2018, kicked off with and afternoon spent in the sunshine giving our outside grounds and car park area a good tidy. Everyone had brought their garden gloves, rakes, brooms and shovels to spread wood chip and marking out the car park boundaries. An amazing effort from parents and kids alike, showing the true spirit and involvement of 1st Oxshott Scouts. A quick AGM followed and Andrew Burns, Esher Scouts Deputy District Commissioner awarded our very own Beaver Scout Leader "Grey Wolf" aka Brian Murphy and Explorer Scout Leader Carl Rowell their well deserved Wood Badges. Well done to the both of you.
After which everyone celebrated with a well deserved cold beverage and BBQ, cooked by The Explorers, chilling around the camp fire and marvelling at the good work done by all. Thank you to everyone who helped. |
